A-1 Vacuum Service is a family-owned septic pump-out company based in Houma. We pump septic tanks, home sewage treatment plants, grease traps and cesspools within about 40 miles of town. Find your community below, then call.
Houma is our home base. Much of the city is on public sewer, so a lot of our Terrebonne work is in the communities around it, where many homes run their own septic tank or sewer plant. If you are in town, start with our Houma page.
Bayou Blue straddles the Terrebonne and Lafourche line. Whichever side your house is on, you call the same number.
Follow the bayou roads south, LA-24 toward Bourg, LA-56 toward Chauvin, LA-57 toward Dulac, and the ground is low and wet most of the year. A tank that is already full has nowhere to go there.
Septic tanks and home treatment plants are the systems you will find most often, and locals call the plants “sewer plants”. We pump both, plus cesspools. Restaurants and commercial kitchens get grease trap pumping. Gibson is also in Terrebonne Parish, on US-90 toward Morgan City, and we cover it from our Morgan City page.
Lafourche Parish grows along Bayou Lafourche, with LA-1 and LA-308 following the two banks. We pump in Thibodaux, Raceland, Chackbay, Lockport, Choctaw and Kraemer, and on the Lafourche side of Bayou Blue.
Much of the city of Thibodaux is on public sewer. Out in the country between the towns, on the back roads and out LA-20 toward Chackbay, homes more often rely on a tank or a home treatment plant. Heavy rain and high water test both.
Tanks, sewer plants, cesspools and commercial grease traps all apply here. Raceland and Lockport sit on Bayou Lafourche, and Chackbay is out LA-20 from Thibodaux. Thibodaux has its own page and its own local phone line.
Des Allemands sits on US-90 along the line between St. Charles Parish and Lafourche Parish. It is toward the edge of our 40-mile circle, so give us your address when you call and we will take it from there.
Homes here that are not on public sewer rely on a septic tank or a home treatment plant, and low, wet ground leaves little room for a full tank. We pump tanks, sewer plants and cesspools, and grease traps for local restaurants and commercial kitchens.
Morgan City is in St. Mary Parish, on the Atchafalaya River along US-90. We pump in Morgan City, Berwick, Amelia and Bayou Vista, and Gibson sits on the same highway just across the line in Terrebonne.
Down here the Atchafalaya Basin is close and the water table is never far below the surface. Tanks and sewer plants pumped before the rain have room to work. Commercial kitchens and restaurants can schedule grease trap pumping too. Our Morgan City line is on the Morgan City page.
Residential and commercial tanks.
Home sewage treatment plants, the ones locals call sewer plants. Your plant’s maintenance provider handles the mechanical side. We pump out the solids when the tank needs it.
For restaurants and commercial kitchens.
For older systems that are still in the ground.
Not sure if you have a tank or a sewer plant? Tell us what you see in the yard when you call, and we will sort out which one you have.
Our circle runs about 40 miles around Houma, and this page names the places we know best. If you live between two of them, or past the last one on the list, call and give us your address. We will tell you straight whether we can reach you.

Came out next day and pumped out our system with no problems.
Hurricane season runs June to November, and South Louisiana soil stays wet most of the year. A tank that is already full has nowhere to go when the water rises. Get your pump-out on the schedule while the weather is calm.
Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday 7 a.m. to noon. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Questions first? Use the form on our contact page.
